Poem
Alarm buzzes,
I’m caught from a dream,
though I’m only half awake.
White light bursts through an opening in the shades.
Hope I get up, before dawn becomes midday.
I have circles under my eyes,
a zit on my chin,
all is well.
I’m tying up my hair,
sliding on my shoes,
sneaking out of the house,
ready for my date with the pavement.
