Rather Be Free
May 20, 2021
Poem
Your stare lingers as I pass. I curve a smile, your brow furrows.
What an ass.
I walk on, feeling the scowl through your mask.
Okay whatever, I understand.
Living in a cage is hard.
Especially after you’ve chucked the key.
Some want safety. Certainty at all costs.
Others just want to live free.
